How to mass-reformat callout balloons after update?

I need to make two versions of all of my assembly drawings, each with different formatting for the callout balloons. Unfortunately, you can't select multiple balloons and edit them simultaneously. However, you used to be able to insert a balloon with the desired formatting on top of the old balloon, and it would replace the old callout while keeping the position and leader (important, since these are very carefully arranged to look neat and professional for use on our website). However, since the latest update, the balloons stack instead, and there seems to be no way to replace the balloons anymore. I tried stacking the new balloon and deleting the first one, but that just breaks the callout instead of replacing it. Does anybody know of another solution, or do I have to either edit each balloon one at a time to have the shape/size/properties I need or delete the old callouts and replace and reposition them all by hand?

Preciso desenhar um cubo, uma das faces terá um ângulo de 16º onde faço no esboço e já faço a extrusão. O problema vem agora, as duas faces laterais tem simetricamente um ângulo 55º. Parece fácil mas não estou conseguindo, aguém me ajuda?

New registration requires students to enter their D.O.B, then as they're under 13, it tells them to get consent under COPPA. I can't add them via email in the Class as it says under 13's need consent from parents. Is there a work around for this, the PTC Privacy Statement says schools can approve usage of under 13s if "a school on behalf of a child as the parent’s agent, where the Service is to be used solely in aneducational context." How do I do this?

Information on creating an onshape app

I feel a little lost with regards to creating an app for onshape that allows some form of UI to be integrated into the onshape view. Can anyone lead me to some resources that detail the main steps for this. I am having trouble understanding where the coding side of the app is done. Do I use a programming language and then upload some type of file into the onshape app in the developer portal? I'm mainly confused about how to get what I've made into the onshape app. What I am thinking of achieving is allowing users in our company to access a custom formatted BOM from an assembly in onshape without having to pull the assembly data into a standalone app.

Arc length dimension for curved pipe doesn't work in drawing

I'm trying to dimension a curved pipe's arc length in a drawing. I used the dimension tool, clicked start, end, and the arc itself, but this doesn't work. Instead it gives some sort of angle dimension instead.

The pipe is created from an arc in the part studio, and I can dimension the arc length without problem in the part studio sketch, but now I need that dimension on a drawing.

Trying to Use "Move Origin" within the Parametric Curve Feature

Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find anything.
I'm trying to use the Parametric Curve Feature Script and would like the include the "Move Origin" function there. Unfortunately though, as soon as I click that button I get an "Error regenerating".

Can this be solved or do I have to find a work-around?

When confirming a sketch, you have to click with the mouse instead of pressing Enter.

Hi,

I've added a number of students to my Enterprise and a couple have been unable to sign in using the single sign in. They're getting an invalid login details message then a sign in attempt throttled / recaptcha message.

I've tried removing them and sending a new request and a number of different browsers / phone.

Revolve Axis Cannot Be Selected

Hi All,

I am having trouble getting a line to work as a revolve axis. I have created an initial sketch with a circle and need to update it to an ellipse so I've create a new drawing on the same sketch and planned on simply changing the revolves I created with the circle. However, when I go to select the revolve axis on the new ellipse the line is not selectable. I've tried many things and ensured I'm selecting revolve axis but hovering over the line in the ellipse does not highlight (the old sketch is still available however so it seems that it must be something with my drawing). I've done this a number of times with other curves but always with circles, does it matter that the line is not from a circle?

'Forking' a channel part created via Sweep

The initial part created via a sweep and im looking to create a fork in this part (where the example part is), so that there are no walls in the channels where the part would join…. that a marble could roll in any direction. (Couldn't think of a better way to describe) I can create a 'Y' junction at the top easy enough by splitting, but on the side I cant get my head around. I did try to remove the section via extrude - remove the negative space from the channels but that made a mess. Im sure there is a better way that I cant grasp… Thanks heaps

How to move an object so that one face of the object snaps to another object's face?

Hi guys,

Coming from SpaceClaim realm, I am so used to the "Up To" feature, where I move the "triade"'s center to a face of the to-be-moved object, then I hit the "Up To" button, then click on the "triade's" arrow corresponding to the axis I want to constrain the movement to and then I click the destination face and the object is moved "Up To" that face.

I am trying to replicate that behavior in OS but don't find it obvious at all. How can I achieve this?

I would also like to be able to "Ctrl+Drag Triade's Handle" to copy object. Is something similar available in OS?

Can I hide construction lines, or dimensions, while viewing a sketch?

Sometimes a sketch can get a bit cluttered, and it would be useful to see the "real" entities without the meta-features, e.g., the construction lines, or the dimensions. Is this possible? I'm picturing a simple toggles, to make one or the other invisible, much like the "Hide planes" toggles.

i have a door frame with hinges 497.5 mm away from the edge. When i create a drawing and show the distance of the hinge, Onshape shows 351mm. What am i doing wrong?

Hello!

I am trying to make a configurable grid. I have a single cell designed up and have configurations controlling the length and width. The grid can be 1x1 up to 6x6. I am trying to change the configurations of the corner instances to a configuration of the base cell with a rounded corner. I am also trying to add a configuration that will add a notch to the corners and the center of each side. The issue I am running into is the number of permutations to just hard code replacements is extensive and I am hoping of someone who has done something similar or could give me some tips.

Problem with placing multiple fillet

Lets say i'm designing a basic cube and want to fillet the edges on the left and right side of the cube.
i click on fillet tool and select both sides. this is were i get the error message.
i have to open a new fillet tool every time and only select one side at the time!

this was not a problem when i first started with onshape

3D space mouse use

Hi, I am just taking the introduction course to see if Onshape can be of use for our company.
I notice that my space mouse is only zooming in and out and has some delays before the parts react.
Rotation or moving sideways does not seem to work with Onshape. Need to use the keyboard/mouse combination.
As Creo-Catia-Solidworks user, I am used with spacemouse functions and wonder if the functions can be used in Onshape.
I am using a portable 3Dconnection mouse.

Large model local computing, mesh features

I am attempting to use medium sized 3D scans I took of my car, for example the wheel well and suspension components of just one corner. That model is too large for OnShape and makes creating parts within that model basically impossible. Its a slide show with features taking a long time to generate. So there is no way to do a full car sized model in Onshape without reducing the mesh significantly. I found meshes over 50 mb OnShape cannot deal with which is unfortunate because thats not even a large mesh.

Is there ever going to be a way to utilize local hardware to help the program like how Fusion 360 does? That program can run the things I mentioned no problem which is why I compare them. I much prefer OnShape over Fusion so if this was ever solved it would be awesome. My current work flow is to bring the models into Fusion, use their remesh and reduce mesh features then bring it into OnShape, since OnShape has no such equivalent features that I could find.

Using configurations in variable studios

I was led to a trap. I kind of assumed I could have a variable studio drive several Part Studios and that I could later make configurations of the variable studio. Then I discovered to make configs I have to disable this Insert into all Part Studio feature.

For example.

I have document I am trying to show the state between being broken or not.

I have 3 Part Studios that are being driven by this Variable Studio.

For my demonstration purposes I can delete the configuration table and just manually change the 100 to 30.

Is there a reason a configuration can't be inserted into all?
This seemed like an intuitive way of working and yet I'm trapped.
Maybe I'm missing some philosophy part of Onshape here.

Can you use "conditionals" with variables?

What I mean here is can you do things like; if x>10 then y=0.5*x else y=x. What about logical functions like AND and OR? If conditionals and logicals could be used, then I could easily "program" multiple variables to change off one or two primary parameters. For example, enter a woodruff key number (i.e. 204) into a variable and use conditional logic to set all of the dimensions. Diameter and thickness can be done without conditionals, but the offset cannot, it varies from size to size.

On the other hand, can FS be used to just import existing variables and set values to new variables that can be used in a part model without actually making any geometry?
