bore hole into the side of extrude

If i have a 3 in circle and extrude it to say 6in. how do i bore a hole into the side?

    Create a plane that is tangent to the OD of the rod and use that as the basis for a sketch that creates a circle that is used to extrude-remove material to make the hole.

    BTW - you placed this in the Drawings section which is intended for 2D (paper) drawings or prints.  You might get better results in the "Using Onshape" section.
