offset in bidirection in Sketch

I want to offset the figure in both directions by 0.01 and form, but Onshape always says "Could not offset entities"
It's very straightforward in SolidWorks. Did Onshape change this?

Hi - you would have to make the doc public for me to copy it (that is a read-only link). Anyway, I recreated it and the issue is that you are going from a closed region (that is 2D) to a single line (that is 1D). If you made it in two sections (top and bottom) then you could join both ends afterwards. Would SW really offset the whole profile?

No bi directional offset is not there yet. I have wanted this for quite a while. You can use the slot function (dropdown arrow beside the offset brings this up) and then go an delete the capped ends. This is a kludgey workaround but with the right amount of lines it works out to slightly less mouse clicks.

@NeilCooke he means it offsets to both sides of the line in one click of the offset command. Much like the slot function without capped ends.

Thanks for your comments. I think I got what's possible with Onshape. I was expecting the bi-directional offset like that in SW, which allows me to draw centerlines of a slot network and bi-directionally expand .

Jake, a slot will work in instances that are simply a straight line, however, if you wan multiple connected lines or a circle you are out of luck. A bi-directional offset is needed.
