2D Drawing : why dxf won't scale ?

Hello,

I'm currently using onshape to work on a large transport packaging diecut. It's in 4 pieces and I have to make them fit on the same 2D Drawing.
After realising Onshape can't deal with direct sketch 2D drawing creation, I exported a Dxf file from my part file and reimported it in a freshly created 2D drawing tab.

My issue is that whatever I try, the dxf won't scale down. The parts are large (1400mm wide and 1800mm high) so basically no sheet except a ridiculously oversized custom one would do the job without scaling. I'm sure of the units etc, it's just that whatever I put in the sheet scale parameter (I went down to 1:100000000 just to try) it WON'T scale down my dxf but instead just downsize it to make it fit in the sheet. So when I dimension it, all sizes are wrong.

    You can import a sketch into a drawing. You just cant sketch directly in a drawing

    I wouldn't export to dxf just to re import it.

    Hi @vincent_le_roux861 - is it not possible to use the 3D model? Did you use sheet metal features to create the packaging or did you just draw the flattened shape as a Sketch? Either way, you can insert the sketch (or flat pattern sheet metal part) into a drawing and scale the view as needed.

    I used only a flattened shape as I don't need to go through sheet metal for this item here.

    You are right ! I tried to create a drawing through the normal process ("+" bottom left menu) but indeed it works by right clicking the sketch directly, and then the scale parameter properly applies to it ;)
