Why I can not create part like others Extrudes ?

Hi, I want to make Extrude Part like this ;



but when i try it i get the result like the picture below: 



What is the reason and how can i fix it ?

    I assume you extcuded the first one from the side profile. While the second one is just the face you selected. 

    You can do either way. But if you want to fill in the gap between the two blocks. Use replace face and select the two inner faces.
