Im a jr in High-school doing a public project, but i don't know how to make smooth complex surfaces.

Is there any way i can add on to these simple surfaces to allow more curvature without using fillet or any of the simple tools provided? I'm new to onshape.

    It sounds like the advanced part and surfacing design tutorial series might be relevant (particularly the surfacing sections):

    Admittedly, I do still need to finish the pathway, but the parts I have done so far have been very helpful.

    I'll second the comments from @alnis_smidchens: studying up on surfacing is the way to go. I've found that working with surfaces gets more complicated than solid parts made out of lines and circles, so some operations can definitely be less intuitive. So, any surfacing tutorials you can find should help you get the hang of it.

    Also - this thread has some good information about curvature that applies both to surfacing in general as well as non-circular fillets, splines, etc.

    First off — thumbs up on what @alnis_smidchens says

    Here’s some of what I’ve learned about surfacing - which is a minuscule amount about what’s involved in surfacing

    By the way, for just starting in Onshape, your model looks pretty cool. That’s an old man’s way of saying nice work.

    I thank you all for your feedback and support! I have taken a few looks at the training course provided by alnis_smidchens and the discussions that steve_shubin and tim_hess427 mentioned, and just by looking at this information I am already getting a better understanding if complex curves. This helps a-lot, again, thanks for providing this info!

    @joshua_davis740

    If you read the entire post that I linked to, there was one place where I made the following statement —

    Then one at a time, delete one of the tangent constraints and replace it with a curvature constraint.

    Disregard this. There’s no need to delete the tangent constraints

    Leave the tangent constraints in place. And then apply the curvature constraints when called for, in the post

    Ok, will do. Thanks for the update, you provided a lot of essential information I needed on curves in general. I appreciate the info on the constraints, this stuff is quite tricky.
