You have already gotten some solid advice on where to start with this type of modeling. It will be important to develop a base level of skill first - the Learning Center will be the best place to start.

Since you are also asking about how to use the Revolve tool (for example) you may need to start with something more basic than a car.

Finally - don't forget the folks on this forum are here voluntarily, and you need to be polite and patient when waiting for answers! There are also guidelines for getting the most out of this forum (how to post, link to your document etc).

    Good luck!

I'd like to help, but I feel that the question is too broad for me to really weigh in on usefully. It's kind of like asking someone who built a house, "cool, how'd you do that?". There are lots of sub-skills that all work together to make something this complex. A car is a very ambitious project. Best I can suggest for now is to find automotive CAD videos on youtube, even if they aren't Onshape. A lot of the concepts should carry over.

    I would echo Evan.

First, Onshape is powerful, and its underlying kernel can represent any shape that a Class-A car surfacing person could create, but it's not the best tool to try to model a car. That said, you can still have fun and get something that basically looks right.

Most automotive exterior stuff goes through a lot of stages of development. Early work will be in 2D sketch form, then maybe a subdivision surface modeling program, a clay model, a scan of the clay model, a refined 3D cad model, updates to the clay model, a more refined 3D CAD model....

The high end Class-A surfacing is typically done in Alias Autostudio or ICEM. Some stuff happens in Creo ISDX, NX or Catia, but usually by the time it ends up in those more ME-centric packages, it's to add manufacturing details to the sheetmetal.

Here are some links - most of this is in Alias, but many of the concepts are universal
