Cant project curve from drum/tube intersection

I have a tube and drum intersection. I will be laser cutting the tube, this cut need to be square to the tube. However I cant project the curved intersection between tube and drum onto a sketch. (I get check input error) Can anyone help?

this GIF will take you up to just before you do an extrude that is set to remove everything of an extruded Sketch 2, from what looks like a pipe to me
