Assembly not moving even though it should

Anton_TaAnton_Ta Member Posts: 3 EDU
Hello,
https://cad.onshape.com/documents/cee014a58dc4d2033f1565ed/w/3e5d1821dd8760e9350536cc/e/3e35d005b4b47ad8c052ff41
I have problems with the assemblies 3 and 4. The hinge parts should be able to move--they can move in the 47366297 assembly--but they cannot move in assemblies 3 and 4. Why is this? How can I fix this?

You've shared via link and not made it public. It's harder to fully diagnose what the issue is without being able to make a copy and try out changes to mates.

Maybe someone else will figure out why this is happening. When I first read this, I assumed that perhaps you had accidentally grouped stuff that shouldn't have been grouped, but that's no the issue. So far the only hint is that somehow Onshape considers the 47366297 assembly rigid in assemblies 3 and 4, but I don't see any mates that would likely do that.

There is something odd with assembly 47366297: the tree is not showing the icons showing any degrees of freedom when it should (like 49388596) but it does move...

Agree with @S1mon it's hard to troubleshoot without making a copy to edit. You could try fixing a different part to see if that makes it come to its senses but I would submit a ticket as there is something fishy for sure.

Sorry didn't realize you had changed the sharing...

Fixing a different part did the trick for me: the icons suddenly show up and assembly 3 and 4 are now moving properly. Definitely a glitch though!
