Changing Line Width
Hello, I am a student and we are looking into software to use for design for our 3d printer, laser cutter and water jet at my school. So far onshape seems to work fine for the 3d printing side of things but we are having some issues with the laser/water cutters. The software for our equipment needs the lines to be certain… -

What would be the best way to have an assert on a variable
Is it possible to give a warning if I'm about to do something stupid with variables? For example. If I'm designing a block and I put in a line diameter of 12mm and I have a sheave width that is <12mm it would inform me that the sheave width must be greater than line diameter? I mean I suppose I could model the rope and it… -
Passing configured dim from part to sub to full assembly?
Hi All, newbie here but I'm loving this platform. I'm trying to put a bunch of subassemblies in a line in an assembly and I want the space between them to be even despite their varied sizes so that they look nice and neat. The math is 1/2(width of part n + width of part n+1) = spacing. I have all my widths defined in a… -
How to define and use simple custom design check rules?
Is there a way to define and use at least simple design rules to check my model against? For instance, it would be beneficial to define a few rules like the following ones (with an example for the limit values): * minimum wall thickness = 0.1 mm * minimum embossed detail (high) = 0.6mm * minimum embossed detail (width) =… -
Re: Increase resolution of exported STL
Just set to the resolution you want to check (Coarse, Medium, or Fine) then switch back to Custom and you can see the settings. For me it's... Coarse Angular deviation (deg): 12.5 Chordal tolerance (mm): 0.24 Minimum facet width (mm): 0.635 Medium Angular deviation (deg): 6.25 Chordal tolerance (mm): 0.12 Minimum facet… -

How to control line-widths for laser cutting
I am trying to laser cut parts. I have created a drawing with the part profiles laid out on a sheet that is the size of my stock. Now I need to export this in a format that I can send to the Epilog cutter. The Epilog works by using it as a printer. Any line finer than the 600 DPI resolution of the "printer" is cut,… -
Re: HOW TO RELAX FLEXED SHEETMETAL PART
I beleve in this case my FS won't work because we have a shape of double curvature. Though since the length of the part is far greater then the width you can get approximate solution by measuring the length of inner and outer edges and calculating the mean value and considering the width to stay the same
