Building Layouts (Floor Plan) -- Seeking Your Advice
I have constructed a building layout (floor plan) for a 2 story office space: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/569e29daf28932c56a2c7a76/w/d3678f7a010aec8d44ed44bc/e/db2ca978e704cf21d2fd5650 Does anyone have any advice on document structure, design or construction techniques that would be specific to these types of models?… -
Re: Improvements to Onshape - December 15th, 2021
Wow indeed. There is so many quality-of-life improvements here that it's making my head spin. I'm so glad you focused on useability this time around rather that adding a few niche features. I'm sure most users will find several reasons to love this update. Well done, Onshape/PTC team Looking forward to what 2022 will… -
Re: How do I cut constant depth slots into a compound radius surface?
I was pretty sure you wanted to close up those ends. I think even if you couldn't find a way to pattern the slots easily, you should be able to easily fill in that area with a sweep. I did end up getting what I think is a solution. I couldn't get a sweep to pattern well, so I instead I used more planes for face splits. 1)… -
Re: Dimensions Over Constrain Sketch By Default?
@larry_hawes In the above GIF, I answered your first question which is can the second rectangle be created without dimensions Think of a constraint as like an anchor. So if I snap (constrain) the bottom horizontal line of the second rectangle to that of the cuboid, and if I constrain the top horizontal line of the second… -
Vertical Scrolling in Feature List
Onshape's Feature List has a re-invented scrollbar. I reckon it flat sucks. (OK, I'm too civilised to say what I REALLY think) The only rapid transit option is to click on the (rather small) scroll box and drag it. It's fussy: you have to watch like a hawk, and position (and reposition) the mouse with some care, to scoot… -
Part Studio Methodology
I am working on building a deck addition on my house and have been using OnShape the last couple of days to come up with some designs. https://cad.onshape.com/documents/c81a2bf27975d44e7c132e75/w/4f3056aaa0badaeaa582f09c/e/16b9e3b5c432f8ca521da0c6 I thought I was doing pretty good * Created "skeleton" to define some of the… -
Re: Wrap a solid part?

I’ll give you one part studio… -
Re: New Custom Features: Mold Design
@NeilCooke Hi Neil. I think the toggle for priority is a better option. At the moment i'm working with a configurable part, loaded into a configurable 'mould' part studio, loaded into a configurable sub assembly loaded into the final mould assembly. From the final mould assembly I configure the six sizes for the sub… -
Re: Multiple Fillets
@guy_4 ,Yes there is a way to put multiple fillets in a sketch that are all equal to each other. You have to select fillet command then click the corner points of sketch (Intersection of two edge) where you want to give fillet. After that you have to put radius value for fillet as per your requirement. then select all… -
Re: Suggestions on approach for fully parametric model
OK I got a little carried away. So here is the document;- clicky The premise is the same, we want a crate, we want to see it either assembled or flat, and we want it parametric. Excuse that lack of joints / tabs, this waffle is more concerned with the method rather than the detail. (1) It's drawn with the pieces assembled…
