use profile data in a parametric model
Hello, Is it possible to use the profile data using the frame feature. (eg the overall height or width of a profile section, either form the standard library or custom profiles) in a parametric model? I am building a frame (grid) using a repetition of the same profile elements, the spacing of the elements is taking in… -

Inserting a part multiple times in different sizes to an assembly
I'm planning a kitchen. I've modeled the room as a part, and I've modeled a cabinet carcass as a part, with variables for the height, width and depth. I'd like to build an assembly that shows the room with the cabinets installed. However, each instance if the cabinet might be a different width: say, a 21" cabinet next to a… -
BEAMS - Profiles and configurations
Greetings, New to Onshape and working a lot with weldments/BEAMS. Is there a way to use configurations where the variable for a beam width or height is set according to the width or height of the beam profile? At present, I set the variables for the width or height of a beam in configurations but if I change the profile of… -

Tapering shapes?
I'm trying to make a mount to enable me to attach an impact sprinkler to a fence post, but I'm really struggling to create a tapered shape for the spike. It tapers both lengthwise and width wise in each of the four ridges of the spike. Would anyone be able to suggest the best method to try and tackle this? Thanks! I'm -
What would be the best way to have an assert on a variable
Is it possible to give a warning if I'm about to do something stupid with variables? For example. If I'm designing a block and I put in a line diameter of 12mm and I have a sheave width that is <12mm it would inform me that the sheave width must be greater than line diameter? I mean I suppose I could model the rope and it… -
Passing configured dim from part to sub to full assembly?
Hi All, newbie here but I'm loving this platform. I'm trying to put a bunch of subassemblies in a line in an assembly and I want the space between them to be even despite their varied sizes so that they look nice and neat. The math is 1/2(width of part n + width of part n+1) = spacing. I have all my widths defined in a…
