I am posting this for several reasons.
1) It's a cool (and needed) custom feature
2) It was written by our own @Jake_Rosenfeld - that means it is done efficiently with good error checking (much more than I would have/been-able to provide) - a good template for your own custom features
3) Various people are collecting 'good ones' on aggregation sites, and I wanted to make sure this one was included
