Import "Part trace" component

downloaded component from part trace catalogue. unziped file gave AD PRT file. Imported to assembly, says file imported, but does not display component geometry?
Is part trace compatable with onshape or have I got it wrong some where?

The formats which can be imported and translated to Onshape-readable form are listed at
https://cad.onshape.com/help/#translation.htm
Then click on "Part Studios"
ad_prt is not listed as a CAD format which is supported:
as far as I know, Alibre Design Geomagic is the only application which can open these files.
(It appears to be proprietary to Alibre, rather than an "open", published format)
If you can open it in Geomagic Designer and save it as one of the listed formats, you can get it into Onshape.6 -

TraceParts allows model download in a wide variety of 3D CAD formats, so all you need to do is pick one of the TracePart file formats that Onshape can import and you should be good to go.5
