Best way to place a construction line from offset of circle centre to circumference?

If I want to place a slot which is in-line from the centre of a circle, and is an offset from the centre and from the circumference, the only way I can work out of doing this is to first draw a construction line from the circle centre to the circumference, then overlay a second construction line on top of the first, this I can then dimension a distance from each end. This constrains the second line and I can use the slot tool on it. It seems a clumsy way of doing this as I have a construction line on top of another construction line and I have to use the ` (back-tick) key to choose the correct line for the slot. Is there a better way of doing this?

There are tons of ways to do this… But you don't need to overlay anything.
One way is to just drawn the slot centerline anywhere inside the circle, set it coincident with the center point and add dimensions from the end to the outer circle and origin.

You could also create 3 lines segments and set them coincident

The slot tool is convenient, but you can also just sketch some lines and arcs with the right parallel and tangent constraints and get the same result. There are so many different ways to sketch this.

Awesome thanks - I tried the first approach and couldn't get it to work as I was setting the coincident from the endpoint of the line to the circle centre. As soon as I tried the coindicdent from the line itself to the centre it worked. Thanks, that will make a few of my drawings easier.
