Using OnShape for VEX IQ Designs
I would like to offer my 5th and 6th grade robotics students a CAD option for their initial robot designs. Has anyone had experience guiding student use of this tool with the VEX IQ parts libraries? If so, what are some of the key problems that your students have encountered? Any tips for success?
Thank you!

Im a coach for a FIRST FTC team and we use Onshape and GoBilda libraries. There is a learning curve with CAD in general. For FTC many of the vendors, like GoBilda, have starter robots and they include assemblies you can import to get started and then I have my team work with those and modify and add their own parts. Less work than trying to build from the ground up. A full robot assembly can take a long time to build but modify existing ones or only build sub assemblies works well to start.0
