Adding comments to the feature list

Happy Friday!
I wanted to share a little tip that I developed in collaboration with Matt and Matt at Onshape - inspired by my 7th grade son's Onshape experience.

The trick is to create a variable - type Any. The information you type into the description will show up as a tooltip. You can see here that my Variable is named Info1 and has a value of "spur" The description gives information about the steps that come afterward. I find this a bit more convenient from an instruction practice rather than using comments. I think of it almost like commenting out my code. I hope in the future Onshape will add the ability to include a description for any feature.

Great idea!
It's also better than my method of creating an empty sketch with a really really long name!
You could name the variable to match a Folder of features or something to tie it to a set of subsequent features.1 -
Great! I hope others try it and have more / improved ideas for using it!0

nice! I've experimented with a number of workflows, like comments, a "note" custom feature that doesn't do anything and can just be named, and just using really long feature names (you can get 256 characters). I've landed on long feature names like "Move face: prevents downstream failures that may occur for certain configuration values." I like your method here though if it's more general info.1

Thanks for the idea. It would be great if Onshape had a notes section to each feature, where ASCII text notes could be added. Long names and folders help organize design elements for future modifications but a large notes field in each feature element seems to me would be a very useful and easy to add capability.
