My extrude (remove) goes wrong

Hello,

I'm new to onshape and, as exercise, trying to complete drawings from a book '100 cad drawings'.
For one of the drawings, I made a sweep profile. I wanted the sweep profile to end on a plane. (not normal
to the end point)
Therefore, I inserted a plane and extruded (added) the lower part to the plane. No problem here.

The other part, I thought had simply to be removed to the plane. See figures below

I choose the surface

Remove to plane

But the end result is rather disturbing ...

Anybody knows what I'm doing wrong ? A workaround ?

Any help is much appreciated
