Is it possible to use Managed Release Workflow without part numbers?

I'm currently setting up revision management.
I'm not using part numbering at this stage as it's a layer of complexity I don't need (yet), so I'm just putting '-' in the part number fields.
Onshape is complaining that the part numbers are non-unique. Is there a way of turning on Managed Workflows without having to assign part numbers to things? (Or at least be able to set them all to "N/A"?)

There is no way to do revision management without assigning part numbers. You can go to your company settings and setup Sequential part number generation and use it to assign part numbers automatically.5
