Adding a render appearance to all instances of same item?

There must be method for doing this.  For example, if I want to add a Stainless Steel appearnance to all 52 screws in Render Studio.  What key combination or shortcut am I missing?

You can also filter the "tree" and shift select them all before applying an appearance.

I had been wondering this for awhile now also.  Just discovered a big obvious thing which is scene appearances (thanks @eric_pesty) that are listed just under the library appearances.  When your model is brought into the scene, all the colour appearances of the parts are also brought in and are listed in the scene appearances.  If all the screws happened to be the same colour, you are in luck.  Find the appearance you want in the library appearances.  Right click on it and select copy.  Go back to your scene appearances and right click on the colour that represents the screws and select paste.

Do you know how to make displacement work by any chance?  I just made a perfect aluminum checker plate displacement map in blender by following a wonderful tutorial ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arvhK4tvYuY ) and now I cannot get anything to happen in my scene.  :(
