How can I see if a Boolean subtract has modified an object?

I am passing a pipe with some fittings through a concrete wall and I need to know which of the pipes and fittings are going to be embedded in the concrete. One approach is to use the Boolean subtract with each pipe/fitting one at a time. Then I need a method to see if the concrete wall has been modified after each Boolean subtract. How can I check to see if the pipe or fitting actually modified the wall?
I'm also open to completely different approaches such as the method used by the interference check. However, I understand that code isn't available...

It sounds like it might be a job for evCollision() I think it would be able to find all of those intersections easier than boolean. I think it's how the Extrude feature knows which parts to add to the merge scope automatically. Booleans are computationally expensive, and I'd bet this is much faster. All that said, I've not actually used the function yet, so I could have the wrong idea.1

Evan, thank you! evCollision is exactly what I needed.0
