A Part Studio is a container containing several individual parts. ( 0 .. n )
I don't know Onshape API, maybe you are thinking of Featurescript ?0 -

You only said that you want to export a step file, but is that of a Part, part studio, assembly?
Part studios have an API endpoint for translation

Hi,Thank you for your reply, @caden_armstrong!I tried running the translation for my part studio, and that worked fine. However, I have multiple parts in my part studio and would like to have them exported as one part per STEP file. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?0

If I'm not mistaken, I think there is an end point to query all parts in a part studio. Then you can iterate over the results calling the endpoint for a specific part ids for each part in the query. Maybe there is a param in the endpoint you used to do what you what all in one call, not sure though.0
