Envolepe3d is not a specific feature for making worm gears or any king of gears, it is a generic feature to create envelope geometry, and gears of all kinds is just a single case of the envelopes. In the document where you found that feature should be configured part studios, which create a few types of gears and worm gear… -

I find it hard to impossible grasp, which is undoubtedly me, maybe it is according to ISO but it is certainly not as user friendly as the getriebe.scad by Dr Jörg Janssen. I will stick with my gear generator in Openscad for now but thank you for your explanation.
