Re: Custom Post Processors
Please feel free to submit a support ticket with your machine information and we'll add the request to our list. Currently we do not have a way for end users to define their own machines/posts but it is on our radar for a future update to CAM.
Re: Custom Feature: Cable/Wire Routing
EDIT: Verified fixed in 1.194.0
There is currently an issue with the latest update of Onshape that is conflicting with the Wire features, causing clip selection and clip direction flipping to fail on new Wire route features or when existing ones are edited. Existing un-edited routes are not affected. There are two current workarounds that can be used until this issue is resolved:
1. After selecting clips, press the reset button on the "Edit wire" menu. This will fix the clips but you will be unable to flip their direction. Also, pressing the reset button will remove all wire edits in that feature, so please use with caution.
2. Use the Wire route feature from version 1.179.2 for all new wire routes.
We are working to get this issue resolved. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Re: Machine definition files in CAM Studio
@michael3424 : "That works well enough, but I am hoping that Onshape would have a more sophisticated approach."
Yes , these were exactly my thoughts. Since machines in any shop might be customized or even custom built to a purpose, there'd be need for a tool to configure whatever machine we have, not only supporting certain suppliers from a small part of the world.
Onshape Cam Studio Questions
Does anyone know anything about the level of things we will be able to do in onshape cam, especially when advanced is released? The biggest things I would need in order for me to switch to using it is full post processor editing, as I have a lot of customizations I have done to my current cam systems posts, and expressions/parameters in the fields, because the way I am setup currently all the toolpath settings are autofilled from the tool, and toolpath templates. would love to find out if some of this stuff is on the road map, as I quite like onshapes cad, and would switch all my cam over very gladly to advanced if it could work for me eventually. one man job shop for context, running 3-5 axis milling, turning, etc.
