Re: Making complex cylindrical shapes
There are multiple aerospace companies creating real planes etc. with Onshape. Is it easy to make complex shapes like that? No, not for a beginner. There are other tools out there which could be used to quickly make something that is roughly plane-shaped. Would a real company use those CAD models to base real production off of? No.
Aerospace and automotive is where CAD began. The Parasolid kernel that Onshape is based on is used by countless CAD tools including NX (nee Unigraphics), which got its early start at McDonnell Douglass (which became part of Boeing).
So can you make planes with Onshape? Yes? Is it easy without spending a bunch of time learning the tool? No.

Re: Move letter from text
Short answer: no (and I'm not aware of any parametric CAD that would do that)!
There are likely a number of workflows that can achieve what you need but can you tell us what you are trying to do and/or share a document?
Re: Move letter from text
When you extrude the text. The individual letters will be separate parts. You can the. Use the transform tool on each letter.

Please consider adding 2.5D CAM to the free hobbyist tier.
Re: Boolean Manifold
Also, for a model like this, I highly recommend modeling only 1/8th of it, then mirroring it and doing a circular pattern to complete the shape. It will be less work to model, faster to regenerate, and guarantee symmetry.
Re: Boolean Manifold
If you make your doucment public and share it here, someone will be able to help. In the meantime, non-manifold basically means zero thickness. So look out for geometry like

Is this what your looking for? Geometry Gap in the drawing properties:
how do I find someone to create drawings of assemblies for laser cutting and shop fabrication?
I work in a steel fabrication shop, we have recently started to use onshape to model our projects.
Where would I find a contractor/freelance to model and or detail draw jobs for me?
