Re: ...avoid replacing ALL downstream references in timeline?!?
Apologies, that was though our enterprise. Here's one that should work. https://cad.onshape.com/documents/fcf31e8bc171b06037008400/w/5e435512a9859fc15abc360a/e/9a01ebcfc130df40da9ab5db
Re: Move Variable/s from Part Studio to Variable Studio?
There nothing more stupid than having a variable table, a variable studio and not having a one click export button to convert a variable table into a studio instantly. Who the hell managed that project._anton said:@fernando_domingues I agree that it could be better.
Feel free to write an improvement request; it helps us prioritize things.
Re: Render Battle #6 - Coffee time ☕(Winner gets a real Prize!)
Scenic! Reminds me of a ski lodge in the mountains.
Ty for the entry @bryan_lagrange!
Ok, there are 9 document copies, so I know we have unseen renders waiting to reveal themselves. Let's see those beautiful mugs! 😎
Re: Importing .SVG Into a Part Studio
Re: How would approach building a composite part?
Yep, that's basically it.
Any further changes you make in the "source" part studio will update the derived body. In the "destination" studio, you won't have access to the features of the derived item (although you can include mate connectors and sketches to use there) but you can definitely add and remove, etc…
I have a bit of an example of that workflow here (derive a specific configuration and add features to the derived part):
Re: Provide gap between two parts
I was going to say my personal "goto" is a move face, I often set it up with a variable if I use it in more than place so that I can adjust all the clearances easily after the fact.
Re: How would you configure a multi-feature option?
One more thing to consider if regen time is an issue, you can model the "bases" in another part studio and then derive the different ones in for the different configurations. If you then switch to a version for the derive you effectively bypass the regen time for the bases.
Re: insert named view
We don't support named sections yet inserted as drawing views, but hold on for a bit longer….
Re: Remove tap drill size from hole callout on drawing
I agree, the minor diameter drill size is not the important thing I'm calling out, it's the final drill / tap / depth. Having the minor diameter in the dimension is distracting, and takes a little extra time to determine what the real requirement is. If Onshape could make it so that could be removed by the user and / or make it an optional setting to either include it or not in the displayed dimension, that would be helpful. I sure don't want to type it manually, since it would defeat the purpose of the parametric model. Has this been submitted as a change request?
