Re: Regeneration time is slow, but also not consistent - What gives?!
The performance you are seeing is going to be related to your specific geometry vs. a service or AWS issue. Sheet metal can have some performance issues that we are aware of and are working on. Evan and Simon's suggestions are good ones.
Please open a support ticket so that we can investigate and give you additional, concrete things to improve the performance. In addition, there may be things we can improve in the application in the short term to improve your performance.
Re: Is there an auto update on in context sketch/parts?
TLDR: No, there is not a way to live update the context.
Due to the current nature of context editing, one of my current rules for myself is:
- Stay away from in-context edits no matter what! Use configuration lists and configuration variables to drive things instead if you can.
- Never use in-context edits to drive other data, only static things.
- Stay within the part studio for small things like this that require live context changes, then eventually move to assembly if you need it.
