Re: Creating cut out in sheet metal
No need for additional features
Re: Creating cut out in sheet metal
Because you created all of the sheet metal plates, it still treats this as a single part sometimes.
So creating the half moon cut out right on the edge was causing an error.
If you extend the cut out straight down (as shown) then it will work.
if you really don't want this, then I would have not used sheet-metal, Instead use extrude or thicken unless you plan on bending edges.
Here is another way to trick the sheet-metal tool.
Create your contours before the sheet metal feature, then clean it up
doing it the other way seems to leave these artifacts behind that replace face won't fix either, So I'd do the pre-cut shape, then convert/thicken to sheet-metal afterwards. That seems to be the best solution for me most of the time anyway.
Re: Possible to restrict configuration list combinations when using multiple lists
I had the same question - the short answer is no. The long answer is kind of.
I've got an improvement request for this here if you'd like to vote it up:
And there are some suggestions on workarounds here:
Re: Parametric value lead to erros, how to avoid/hide them
You can Try/Catch the holes to avoid error conditions. Or you can build it into the logic not to generate certain holes depending on various other factors.
Possible to restrict configuration list combinations when using multiple lists
I have a model of a frame that I'm looking to make that is available in standard sizes. I have about 6 different widths that are specified in a configuration list input, and about 9 or 10 heights that are specified in another configuration input. I can select each with and each height independently and adjust the model, but certain combinations are not standard and I would like to ignore them.
As an example,
Widths available:
300mm, 500mm, 750mm, 1000mm, 1250mm and 1500mm.
Heights available:
500mm, 750mm, 1000,mm, 1250mm, 1500mm, 2000mm, 2400mm, 2500mm, and 3000mm
300mm width is available in all heights except 3000mm.
500mm width is available in all heights.
750mm width is available in all heights starting at 750mm tall.
1000mm width is available in all heights starting at 1000mm tall.
And the list goes on, but you get the idea. Is there a way to restrict certain combinations while still allowing the user to select each variable and restrict the choices based on what they pick?
Teacher Account Renewal
As someone else reported, the renew button is not working on teacher/student accounts. I did follow the response advise to look up subscriptions under my profile and renew. The issue there is that I can only renew as a student and not as a teacher. Perhaps they are the same in your system, but as a student it requires a graduation year, and sadly I graduated HS a very long time ago. On the up side they probably would not hire me to manage IT and teach engineering if I hadn't yet graduated HS. Please advise as to how to navigate this so as to not shoot myself in the foot down the road.
Thank you.

Have a look at the self paced courses for curves/ surfaces etc

Re: Understanding Loft's Normal to Profile Magnitude Value
if you play around with the spline handle length you do the same as the loft end condition magnitude.
