Autogenerate Release Names
Hello,
Is there a way to auto generate release names such as 2024-### ? I see ways to generate part numbers, drawing numbers, assemblies and even "items" but I can't seem to find a way to generate release names to make them consistent. I have a spreadsheet I use, however it's another thing I have to manage.

Rendering Named Positions? Decals?
Are Named Positions supported in Render Studio?
What about Decals added in Part Studios?
Unless I'm missing something obvious, I will create some improvement requests.
Re: Sheet metal models and featurescript
https://cad.onshape.com/FsDoc/library.html#opMergeContexts-Context-Id-map
opMergeContext is probably the answer you are looking for. It can bring in a sheet metal model and maintain the flat pattern/sheet metal context.
I don't have enough experience with this specific workflow to know the issues/caveats, but doing this does make the flat pattern visible in the main context until you add another sheet metal feature to the tree.
Re: Routing curve & Control point curve - Introduction of two new features for 3D curve creation
How will this new routing curve interact with the Cable/Wire Routing features in development? It seems like there are useful innovations in each of them, but the ideas haven't been harmonized. Will they stay fully separate or will some of the ideas get cross-pollinated?
Re: Sheet metal models and featurescript
Not being able to derive a live sheet metal model is a current limitation, but it is actively being worked on.
Re: tons of edged/lines
You've imported a part with lots of edges/lines, so what we see is exactly what was to be expected. STL format only supports parts made up of triangles, so there cannot be any smooth surfaces in an STL part. You'll need to redesign the part based on the import. For such a simple part it should take just minutes, though.
Re: Routing curve & Control point curve - Introduction of two new features for 3D curve creation
In fact we pushed a subsequent update where there is a choice of triad axis alignment:
Re: Can I put dashed lines on a drawing?
If there's something that I'm missing, I'd be delighted to be informed.
Re: Routing curve & Control point curve - Introduction of two new features for 3D curve creation
Yeah, Bad design. It should add if add is checked. Otherwise it's not intuitive. Consistency over confusion.
