Re: CAM Studio
Can you consider adding Cam Studio to the free version???
Even it is a cut down version.

Re: Improvements to Onshape - January 31st, 2025
Simple question I hope that @michael3424 brought up.
Is custom post processor something that is being considered so we may accomodate our own machines?
Cosmo Spacely would be proud
Had a little bit of a challenge designing a custom sprocket for a larger than standard chain pitch. I am amazed at how easy it was to do in Onshape. The variable table only has three values that are manipulated and the rest are equations to control the size and the tooth form. Switching between all of the options made this a breeze and was much easier than doing it in other CAD programs. I can honestly say that getting an Onshape license was probably the best thing I could have done for my career, and my appreciation for it grows every day.

He has a lot of videos on youtube machining aluminum, and I think steel too. I have my Taig in my apartment (it was at my dayjob where I used it a lot then). It is fairly quiet because the spindle maxes out at 8000 RPM, using a belt drive servo motor. I only use it once every 6 months or so. The Sharif DMC uses a 20,000 RPM range router motor, as do almost all the hobby cnc's. Those will be much louder. IDK if they still have power if the speed is turned way down.
Re: New Video Tutorial: Power User Selection Skills for Onshape
I like the idea of it being a feature in the tree like a variable, but for queries. This would make it more explicit that it's being used, which would help team mates (or future me) understand the model. The greatest danger of this kind of ability is updates happening in unforeseen and unintended ways, so the more explicit it can be the better.
Re: Hanging dimensions
Those are diameters (note the diameter symbol, ⌀). Click the centerline, then the entity to be dimensioned, then move your mouse to the other side of the center line (in this case to the left).
Re: How to avoid weird contours in my model
can you share your document and link it here? hard to tell how to improve if we cannot review your current loft setup.
Its likely you'r using too many contours in the loft (less control provides better surfaces quality usually).
you probably need to model the surfaces at the nose/tip separately to model a proper transition to the sharp point.
Feature request: ability to share subfolders
I noticed only top-level folders can be shared for now, or individual documents. For more flexibility, it would be nice to also be able to share sub-folders individually. Thanks!

I have a Taig and it's good for hobby. If I were to get a new one today, I think I'd get this one. Shariff DMC:
He designed it with an enclosure which is really nice if its in your home shop.
