Re: How can I display a grid when I am drawing an sketch?
I gave you a vote up…. but I think this will be one of the least used featurescripts :P Good job though:)
Re: How to break bond between parent and child
Sorry to break your heart Ste.😋
By the way, The variables can be changed two ways. Change can be made in the table on mas. When you select which box to view the variables for that part can be changed in the feature tree with out opening the configuration list.
It's not necessary to include variables in the feature tree but it provides nice column header names.
Re: Custom Feature: Gridfinity Bin & Base Generators
Here's an updated version someone made that fixes some of the aforementioned spec issues and adds custom grid sizing
Re: Best way to make this organic type shape.
If you take the curves and surfaces courses in the Learning Center, you'll end up making parts like these.
Re: Improvements to Onshape - April 4th, 2025
So the input is a cylindrical face, and you'd pick a split location (because we need an end to unfold) with manipulator handles or a suggestion from vertices?

And to think, I came to this thread for a heart wrenching tale of seperation, love and loss…
Re: How can I display a grid when I am drawing an sketch?
@MichaelPascoe Perfect. It's not for me as I don't use grids, but I'm sure someone will appreciate not having to define it 3+ times and having the option of just a 2D located elsewhere. If someone uses grids and finds this helpful, please send Michael a shout out to say thanks. Both Grid tents can rejoice.

Re: How can I display a grid when I am drawing an sketch?
@MDesign done! And now it:
- Automatically selects the top plane when first creating the feature.
- Remembers previously used values so if it is something you use often, you won't have to change the settings every time, one click and your ready to go.
- Creates a grid plane so you can click anywhere in the grid to start a new sketch.
- Has the option to create XYZ grids.

Re: How can I display a grid when I am drawing an sketch?
Ok, I whipped up a quick custom feature called
Grid that you can add to your toolbar. This is as far as we 3rd party dev's can take it to help out.
This feature lets you choose the location, color, transparency, count, and spacing.
