Re: This type of error makes my experience of onshape incredibly frustrating
In addition to Greg's note, Selecting faces in this set up will also reduce the selection set. Less mouse clicks without zooming around to get back side.
Re: Trying to round / fillet
Out of curiosity, thought I'd try the full round since have only used on outside fillets before. Works OK.
Re: Creating seamless transitions between two lofts
Zebras are cool too.
Top one more fluid than bottom

Re: Point Pattern Feature by Mate Connectors
thank you so much!!!! will save me SOOOO much time🤩
Re: how do we smooth out (blend?) the end of custom threads?
Will you make the model public? I can't access it. Here's a model showing are 3 different ways I've done it in the past:
- Angle the flat end face and fillet it. I don't love how it makes it flair out, but it can work.
- Use a revolve feature on the ends, then trim the excess and merge it in
- Extrude the ends straight in the direction of the helix ends
Re: Creating seamless transitions between two lofts
This makes a lot of sense. I didn't realize that you could go into the guides and set their continuity. I think this should get me close enough for my purposes.
Re: Creating seamless transitions between two lofts
If you still have issues getting the curvature of Loft to be continuous or having smooth transitions to other surfaces (Shift + C to check curvature of a surface), then you can use Boundary surface which is more controlled than loft. Remember, a surface is only as good as the curves you use to make it. Shift + C will also let you check the curvature of curves and sketch curves.
Re: Mate Connectors vs Planes - Why oh Why??
I've finished up the feature with an icon, user manual, etc

@S1mon I've updated the origin/xaxis as per your suggestion to use the first point as the origin and the 1st to 2nd as the x axis.
@Rhett_Robinson - I work quickly ;)
@joshtargo - I've beat you to it
Re: Improvements to Onshape - January 10th, 2025
I agree that it seems to suggest forming tools, which is exciting!
