Re: Is there a usage standard for CALLOUTS that have boundary geometry?
It is my understanding/experience that drawing standards/practices are an organic beast which is ultimately set by the organization in which you are creating a drawing for. I just want to use callout symbols according to general accepted usage.
Since OS has baked-in a set of callout/flag note styles I was hoping to find an simple "generally accepted" explanation/definition for each type on the web from a trusted source.
The problem with standards organizations is they keep their information behind a paywall, which runs counter to their mission statement.

Just use one of the rectangle tools, constrain the sides equal and to length D, then extrude to depth D.

Have your main object. Then create plane and sketch for boss. Extrude boss to main object. Apply fillet to boss joint. Shell tool to hollow it out.

If possible, it would be better to modify the outside shape as a solid and use the shell tool.

Used this today to get a feel for how realistic a more compact TIR would be (using the tip of hiding the "hits" to show the "density"):
It's nice to be able to get a set of rays coming out from the face of the "LED" instead of a single point (like the Ray Tracer FS did) to take into account the size of the source.

There are tons of ways to do this… But you don't need to overlay anything.
One way is to just drawn the slot centerline anywhere inside the circle, set it coincident with the center point and add dimensions from the end to the outer circle and origin.
You could also create 3 lines segments and set them coincident

Well, it has been 8 years @viru , does the facility exist yet? This is a very important and simple feature of parametric modeling, designers must be able to control either a radius or a diameter.

That looks good. We're doing some laser cutting and wood and aluminium routing and so I'll try it next time such a part comes my way.
