Re: Pattern for feature (Triangle Tile)
Actually went ahead and added it. update to V15 for that!
Custom Feature: Gear Rack
Realized I needed to design two gear racks for a robotics project, and rather than spend 20 minutes doing it manually, I wrote up a custom feature to automate it with some quality of life features (helical/herringbone teeth, fast regeneration, alignment stuff, blah blah blah)
Snag it here if you'd like!
100 tooth regen time
Got me thinking that it might be interesting to try to create a rack generator that works for an arbitrary path - generating the correct involute based on the local curvature. Could lead to some neat mechanisms, lmk if that's something you'd find useful.
Cheers!

Re: Revision Table Edits
I have the same issue/request as the OP; I tried editing the Revision Table template as @romeograham told, but there isn't an option for an "editable field" as the OP asked for. I tried creating a custom property named "Zone" with the same characteristics of the Revision Description property, but still it won't let me edit that directly in the drawing. Am I doing something wrong?
Re: Render Battle #6 - Coffee time ☕(Winner gets a real Prize!)
@bryan_lagrange I guess this would be the Edgar Mitchell award.
Here you go! ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ🏆6th Place!🏆
Re: Render Battle #6 - Coffee time ☕(Winner gets a real Prize!)
@MichaelPascoe The colors of this hoodie are amazing! I wore it outside once, and NASA called me immediately—I'm now officially the first human visible from space with the naked eye.
Re: Render Battle #6 - Coffee time ☕(Winner gets a real Prize!)
@MichaelPascoe I forgot what the prize was for 6th place. 😁
Re: How best to model a part for 3D printing
If you use the "finish sheet metal" feature, then you part becomes "normal" after that and you can use any of the regular tools that do not work on sheet metal geometry.
That said, if you are 3D printing the part there isn't any reason to limit yourself to use a constant thickness and you would be better off adding thicker regions for strength reason.
Side note but have you considered using the version tree and/or branches to explore design alternatives instead of creating a copy of your part studio (which becomes "separate").

@RenderBattle:
The hoodie prize was a success!
Will have to keep this in mind for future battles!

Looking good @sebastian_glanzner!
Connection problems at south america(Brazil)
I'm from Brazil, and the closest server from me is us-west-2 at Oregon that means it is over 10.700Km as I live in the south of Brazil.
"Japan is 10,700 km from my house(USA). If I had a direct fiber from me to Japan, the time for a photon to go from one point to the other is 52.47ms. Add the return trip, and your over 100ms already. It's also one of the reasons GEO sats have pings of 600ms+" -ulmatms at a reddit post
If I open my "cmd" and type "ping onshape.com" it gives me:
As I show above, It's a REALLY HIGH PING, you could be thinking, but does it matter when you are working? If your file isn't too big, like a square, No it doesn't matter that much, but if your file it's a FRC robot (like mine) YES it does really matter! Sometimes It takes 30+ secs to add a DOT in a sketch…
I'm not making this topic to say Onshape is the worse, NO, I do really like Onshape, it's really easy to learn how to use, and is not expensive at all, but it would be really helpful to have a server at south America, and I know that I'm not the only one, of course US has way more people using Onshape than Brazil or maybe south America, but is not 0, and maybe there is not that many, because people tell other "don't even try it, you have to wait 3 business days, to open a skecth"
Ps: I saw a topic about local servers, I think it would work! like I'm in a robotics team, we could make a server and use it but…
Above you can see my besties! 👆
