Re: How to put holes in this cap
Danke das hat geholfen. Mein Problem war, dass der Obere Teil eine Oberfläche und nicht ein Volumenkörper war. Deswegen konnte ich ihn auch erst nicht als Zusammenführungsbereich angeben.

Re: Center of Gravity
Currently I'm just guessing.

Whose idea was it, to name the extrusion feature like that, when newly created?
I'd still prefer a first step of mandatory manual naming any newly created feature, because it's an important piece of documentation. But this automatic name now is in my opinion - excuse my french - crap.
And renaming should be also enabled by a double click into the name field, as mostly any software supports that intuitively.

Use the "Offset" measurement type

In addition to Greg's note, Selecting faces in this set up will also reduce the selection set. Less mouse clicks without zooming around to get back side.
Re: Trying to round / fillet
Out of curiosity, thought I'd try the full round since have only used on outside fillets before. Works OK.
Re: Creating seamless transitions between two lofts
Zebras are cool too.
Top one more fluid than bottom

Re: how do we smooth out (blend?) the end of custom threads?
Will you make the model public? I can't access it. Here's a model showing are 3 different ways I've done it in the past:
- Angle the flat end face and fillet it. I don't love how it makes it flair out, but it can work.
- Use a revolve feature on the ends, then trim the excess and merge it in
- Extrude the ends straight in the direction of the helix ends
