Re: Protrusion Mirroring Issue
When originally extruding the tabs, make them as "new" not "add". Then mirror them as "part". You can optionally merge them to the main solid within the mirror tool using "add", or merge them afterwards with a union.
Example:
https://cad.onshape.com/documents/b983fc34b69e5d46edfc444e/v/247dbf6f5c8a96f36cfd357b/e/e86a8babdfe0930bbed39fb5
Since this "tab" is just a simplification of a more complicated shape, such as a hinge, finishing it completely as a separate part and then mirroring the final hinge will save a lot of time compared to mirroring it early and then doing the hinge details on both sides.
Also check out the shell command. Your overall approach to this box is a lot more complicated than it needs to be.

Re: Help me extrude a QR Code
For those using Inkscape to generate the QR Code, simply check the "Proud" or "Greedy" smoothing type and the code will not include sharp intersections, which are the things that cause Onshape to freak out.

Re: Improvements to Onshape - July 19th, 2024
I already have an improvement request to control what is selectable in Render Studio. I almost never want to apply an Appearance to a face, and yet it is the easiest thing to do.

These render studio improvements are fantastic. I can tell you guys have put a lot of love into it.
One suggestion, when box selecting, I never want to select faces, and render studio takes FOREVER if you accidentally apply materials to faces instead of parts. This makes box selections basically unusable. It would be great if faces were not selected when you window select a group of parts. Perhaps this could be default behavior.

"Support setting ‘Perspective’ and ‘Highlight boundary edges’ as defaults"
------Agreed this was a key thing to add - one that I’ve been advocating! It is a real quality of life improvement.
Re: Mate connector not showing up in assembly?
I think what happened is that the "owner" of the mate connector is the sketch and not the part.. If you used the sketch to define the MC it would define to be owned by the sketch by default (which didn't use to be an option).jerry_berns465 said:Also having the issue of missing mate connector in assembly.Simple box shape with a polygon (hex) shape extrude cut through the box.Turn on the hex sketch visibility and then added the mate connector at the center.Place the part into an assembly, but the mate connector does not appear. If this is not a bug, can someone explain why the mate connector is not available?Regards,Jerry
In this example I am not sure why you would need to define an explicit mate connector at the center of the hex when there is an implicit MC right there always available...
Re: Improvements to Onshape - July 19th, 2024
Any chance we get dark mode into the drawings tab drawings also?
Sooo happy for it though, took me by surprise. much more restful on my eyes @ 6am
All I need now is that sheet_metal_loft feature I keep hearing about so I can finally make truncated cones
Re: Improvements to Onshape - July 19th, 2024
@sebastian_glanzner @bryan_lagrange so eager for sheet metal loft!!! must be a huge sheet metal feaure update in the pipeline or all resources are concentrating on CNC milling/turning features.
Awesome update tho with Darkmode!!

Re: Improvements to Onshape - July 19th, 2024
I'm really glad that there's integrated dark mode now, my only notable complaint is that i wish the grey fill in for closed faces was a little darker so the sketch lines contrast better

Also. Dark mode is making me much happier than I thought it might. Nice job!
It's curious that the constraints in the sketcher are still small pixelated GIFs with black on white or black on blue, unlike their treatment in the toolbar.
I really like the contrast between the constrained (now white) and the blue in the sketcher. This is much easier to see.
