Re: Why do new parts "disappear" from the parts list?
- The feature called "mirror 2" is the one consuming part 3, not feature "right branch extension".
- Your modeling technique is all wrong for this pipe. What you are after is called "sweep". Here is the help section on sweep: https://cad.onshape.com/help/Content/sweep.htm?Highlight=sweep
Re: Mac Usability feedback for Onshape and General Cad work
Exciting times people!
Went to my local apple store today, asked for an accessibility technician guru and explained how I wanted to test my Cochlear Nucleus 8 processors with the new OS Sequoia. Due to the Display laptops being "LOCKED" the apple staff went out the back to fetch a "UNLOCKED" Macbook Pro for testing.
The process was as seamless as you would connect typically using the Iphones "Hearing Devices" under the accessibility menu.
Did a youtube test and instantly audio was streamed straight to my cochlear implants.
Finally the last hurdle is over and I can stream everything to my implants without extra 3rd party devices having to connect to headphone jack or remeber to keep them charged.
Buzzing with excitment that this is now possible and as I'm typing on this windows laptop more than happy to switch to Mac just for this improvement.
Thats the update and pass this information on to any of your friends and family that may find this usefull
Re: Mac Usability feedback for Onshape and General Cad work
You might want to try Chrome again. When I was working on some complex models, I found that Chrome could handle it better than Safari. These things change with each update to the browsers, so I wouldn't treat any of this as set in stone. Also I would use whichever browser is your regular preference first, and only switch if you are having issues.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST: Itemised Composite Parts in Assembly BOMs
I could see this being useful in some cases for sure…
However you might have missed that you can insert a part studio as rigid and then suppress any parts you don't actually want at the assembly level, which is pretty much the same end result as "selective" rigid groups.
You can also set an assembly to "promote components" to have it disappear from the structured BOM so it can become essentially a "virtual" sub-assembly.
You could have a PS with a bunch of parts inserted as rigid in a couple different assemblies as a way to create multiple rigid "groups" at the top level.
Also forgot to mention but if you want to fasten a bunch of things designed in a single PS, you can use the "multi-mate connector" FS to quickly add an identical MC to a bunch of parts at once an then fasten them at the assembly level so they won't be affected by any changes in geometry…
Re: Announcing Onshape Vision for Apple Vision Pro
I bought the Apple Vision Pro just to use with OnShape, only to realize I need an iPad also? WHY!!
iPad apps run on the Apple Vision Pro. Please make it work without ALSO needing an iPad.
When it works, it looks amazing.
Re: How do I constrain a sketch of an organic shape?
Hello Shannon. Give the spline 'handles' dimensions in angularity and length. But first move the sketch (transform) so that one of the sketch's vertices is coincident with the origin (this keeps the whole sketch anchored and not just floating somewhere on the sketch plane) and draw a horizontal construction line from one of the vertices to the other (this allows for angular dimensions). - Scotty
Re: Draft Raised Text on a Curved Surface
Sounds like you're looking for the wrap tool.
Re: Why do new parts "disappear" from the parts list?
Don't forget to do the free "self paced courses" in the "learning center" These courses are well thought out, and start with beginner material and get progressively more difficult. Do yourself a favor, and spend some time training - and go back and review this material over & over.
I do this, and still find little things that I missed (or didn't understand) the previous times through. This training will knock off many hours of struggling while learning.
Between the "help section","learning center"and the "forums", you should be able to self teach. -Good luck-
Re: Help using sweep to create an inverse fillet
Having the same fillet radius inside and out (10mm) does not give s good transition around the corners. The corner by that method causes a thickening at the mid point of filleted around the corner.

Re: Help using sweep to create an inverse fillet
You need to remove the part of the circle that will "turn back on itself" in the corners.
Just draw a vertical line in you path (aligned with the inner wall) and only sweep the part of the circle on the left of it:
