Unclickable Configuration Dropdown?

In an Assembly, when I hoover or click on this part including configurations I get this teasing pop-up with dropdown box.
But it seems impossible to click...
What is going on here?

This is more of a case of "didn't take the arrow away" rather than "put the arrow in". The component that we are displaying there is a read-only version of the configuration switcher, which was a good way to re-use components that we already had and not rebuild a whole new component just for this purpose. A few users have already told us that this is misleading, I will make sure you are added to that request, and are notified when it is fixed.Jake Rosenfeld - Modeling Team5

Look at the bottom section of our help: https://cad.onshape.com/help/Content/configurations.htm?Highlight=configuration

The question is, why is this information displayed as a dropdown box? If this is only info for us to look at, there is no point in having a dropdown-box. This little small triangle/down arrow next to the configuration name just begs to be clicked.
Is this a teaser for a future functionality of easier configuration swapping? It must be, why else would a UX team put a use-cue like that in there...

Or you can make it work?
That would be nice We'll start by making it less confusing, but making it work is also on our collective minds.
