Operations slow as sketch has more entities

I have a sketch with > 100 entities. As the number of entities grew, the time to complete even simple operations increased. At this point, deleting a single entity take several seconds. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had that problem with a slightly smaller assembly that had several gears and a rack that were extruded from overly detailed DXF gear profiles.  Finding gears that were more cleanly defined solved that issue.

Are you using threaded parts in your design?  The thread details can really slow things down.
