Multi Function Plywood Joints

I've been struggling to modify a feature "Plywood" to not only create a sheet of plywood for each selected sketch, but to also extend the edge of specified faces to create a butt joint all in one feature. Essentially a sketch extrude (plywood) then move face (extended butt joint) all in one.
I've attached an example file. If you look at the script you can see my attempt to extend the joints suppressed by comment brackets.
I'm sure there might be an easier way to go about all this and I'm open to all ideas.
