How does one measure the length of a composite curve?

I have created a composite curve representing a drive belt. (All the curve segments are 2D and are in the same sketch plane.)

One would think OS's builtin measurement would return return its length.

Found a method that gives me the total curve (belt) length.

Simply select the 2D curve segments that comprise the composite curve and OS's built-in measurement function will return the summation of the individual curve lengths.
