"save as"

If I "save as" will the saved part/ assembly be changed by future changes to it?

    What do you mean by "save as"?   If you mean version, then no, versions are immutable.  On the other hand, if you are talking about exporting a file (CAD or otherwise) you will save on your local system.  That file will need to be updated if you want it to reflect changes; just like any standard file.
