Are there differences in "sldprt." file types?

What I'm seeing is an sldprt exported directly from Onshape will not open in my cam software (Surfcam) but if I open the Onshape sldprt in SolidWorks and then save as an sldprt it opens just fine in Surfcam.

Most likely the version of the SolidWorks file.  I don't specifically know what versions Surfcam reads, but the version of file that Onshape exports is 2002.
