How do I shave a piece of a part that I'm merging with another part

I am attempting to create a single fairly odd/organic shaped part. I have the 2d sketches I need and have done an extrude and a loft and have what is very close to what I'm looking for. But there's a piece of the smaller part that's extruded through the main part. Is there an easy way to fix this, or do I need to add a new plane on the circled side and extrude a subtracted piece? Also, if you notice beyond that, I really want the two pieces height to match and left side to curve as the front face sketch shows. All of this is similar to the original question though (I think).

To get rid of the extra piece, you could Thicken Remove the surface of the blue part from the piece that you don't want.

You may need to thicken the blue surface before you cut it. If this is so, then try Thicken New instead, then boolean subtract the new part from the piece you are trying to remove.
