Learning Center - Exercise Issues.

I'm taking the online courses and in the Feature Creation / Extrude: Exercise "03" I have created the first sketched and the first Extrude. I have matched the second sketch but can't seem to get the entities defined using the example constraints in step 9. I was able to add some additional constraints and ultimately complete the exercise. However, during the portion of the second extrude process, the part name never changed from part1 to "Extrude" in the "merge scope" section as outlined in the exercise.
For my own knowledge, I would like to know what I missed? Or, is this some kind of software issue??
