How to move along a curve a certain length?

Say I have a 3D spline (or other curve), how to I find a point along the spline that's 10mm away from the endpoint (as traveled along the spline, not measured in a straight line)?

You can get the curve point from, for instance, evEdgeTangentLine, which uses arc length parameterization by default. To compute the parameter, divide the desired distance by total curve length. Something like this.
