How to I extrude a consistent grove in this cylinder without the taper (I used wrap to do this)?

I made a sketch in one plane and used the wrap feature to project it through the walls of the cylinder, however, the wrap feature does this weird taper (picture 2) and I want that grove to be consistent throughout, and also not a straight through extrusion (aka I would like it to go with the curve of the cylinder). Any thoughts on how to accomplish this in a different way? The aim is for this to be a twist-lock mechanism. Thanks!
