Stuck with flexed cylinder

I'm really at the end of my wisdom with this problem. I've drawn the item below, a cam which should be rotated with a lever arm. I am trying now for several hours to draw a continuation of that stub cylinder, in the direction of the red line. Any attempts with 'Sweep' were not successful. Can someone draw me in the right direction to solve that problem?
Kind regards, Hansrudolf

Many thanks Mike, I think that's just what I tried to do, and after copying your example it suddenly worked also! Sometimes things work in a strange fashion...
Main difference was that I defined a new plane on the level of the end of the stub cylinder, but I suppose it should work without that also.
Kind regards, Hansrudolf
