Why cant I insert a model into an assembly after importing it ??

I have a project that I wanted to try out onshape with.  I created several parts in 1 part studio and them inserted them in to an assembly, no problem.  I then imported a model from the internet, and it created a new part studio of that part only, but I cant select it to insert in the assembly.  I then created another new part studio of a dummy part and it will allow me to insert from there.  Look along the bottom of the screenshot to see the tabs for PartStudio 1 and PartStudio 2 but the one for the imported toilet model is not available for insert, any ideas why?

Can you double check the part studio that they are parts and not surfaces?  Surfaces can't be inserted in an assembly.

Depending on what the geometry looks like, you can potentially patch it together.  One thing to try would be to use a thicken on the surface to create a part.  If you share an image or the document posters can come up with better solutions.

Yes it is a surface only imported model....can it be converted to a solid?

Thanks for the help.... I just found another model that I was able to import.
