How to make a wicker basket like

Good morning all,
I'd like to create a piece similar to wicker basket like this one.
But I don't know where to begin.
- From the top with a rectangle+rounded corners+extrusion. But in this case how to extrude to obtain this rounded bottom ?
- From a profile. But in this case, how to obtain this rectangle rounder shape.
Do you have ideas, advise or tutos for that ?
